Who we are and why we're here.

An independent local charity in Romsey since 1989, run with the support of 33 volunteers.

Our story

Age Concern Romsey and District was established in 1989 as an independent local charity, supporting people in later life across Romsey and the surrounding communities.

We own and run Linden Road Hall, which is at the heart of what we do. The hall gives our own groups somewhere to meet, and it is available to hire for community activities, meetings, celebrations and private events.

We are still a small, independent local charity, run with the support of dedicated volunteers. We remain committed to making sure people in later life have opportunities to stay connected, active and involved.

What we do

Two lunch clubs a month, a games and activities group every Tuesday afternoon, and Kurling every Tuesday morning. All of it happens at Linden Road Hall, and all of it is run by volunteers.

The lunches are cooked from scratch that morning. The Tuesday groups cost £3 including tea and a snack. Nothing about any of it is formal, and nobody is expected to sign up to anything.

The main hall set up for a group session, with the piano at the far end.

Who we support

People in later life living in Romsey and the surrounding areas. There is no referral, no form and no means test: if you would like to come along, you are welcome.

Some people come to one group a week. Others are here most of the day, several days a week, moving between activities. Both are fine.
